Hardware Monitoring and Maintenance

We minimise the risk of hardware failure through a set of periodical maintenance and monitoring actions for servers (Microsoft Windows systems) and network devices, regardless of their location.

Supervision of key infrastructure components provides Customers with information about all irregularities. Proactive, preventive actions minimise the risk of system failures and unavailability. Systematic conducting of specific maintenance procedures improves the stability and performance of systems, and prevents occurrence and reoccurrence of potential operation interruptions.

The service is provided remotely by a team of certified specialists (monitoring system operators and administrators), using professional tools.

Implementation parameters:

  • Monitoring: continuous, 24/7.
  • Maintenance: actions are carried out on business days, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at specified intervals.
  • Guaranteed Customer notification time: 1 hour (from the event detection time). Applies to notifications about irregularities detected in the infrastructure operation.

Scope of Actions:

  • Monitoring:
    • Proactive monitoring of key infrastructure components.
    • Notifying the Customer, an indicated external company or an itWORKS support employee (if the POMOC IT service has been purchased) about incidents and possible failures, or exceeding of predefined threshold values.
    • Analysing the trends of parameters covered by monitoring.
    • Reporting the availability of key components and irregularities detected in the infrastructure operation.
  • Maintenance:
    • Verifying the system event log (weekly cycle).
    • Configuring basic performance parameters (weekly).
    • Managing security (monthly).
    • Verifying the state of services and system processes (weekly).
    • Verifying the correct operation of network interfaces (weekly).
    • Verifying the occupation of disk partitions and basic performance parameters – applies to servers (weekly).
    • Reporting on the completed works and the irregularities detected in the operation of servers and of the network (monthly cycle).

The service covers:

  • Servers (MS Windows operating system together with system services).
  • Routers.
  • Network switches.

Prerequisites for Providing Service:

  • The customer possessing and maintaining, at their own expense, a dedicated Internet line with bandwidth of at least 512 kb/s in both directions with a public IP address.
  • Establishment of a secure communication channel between the Customer’s network and the itWORKS network.
  • Permission for secure remote access to the monitored elements of the Customer’s infrastructure using monitoring tools.
  • Permission to install monitoring tools (agents) for the monitored infrastructure components
  • Permission for the Customer to hand over and share administrative access to maintained systems and devices.
