In starting up the Web Inn Outsourcing Center, we paid specific attention to the issues of safety and reliability. Our Data Center in Katowice was designed to fit the client's requirements, for whom an IT system's reliability is of significant importance.

INFRASTRUCTURE SECURITY

• Specialized building

The specially constructed rooms with a reinforced construction, protected with a fire-safety system, equipped with draining system which protects against flooding, electrostatic protection and special safety zones. The Web Inn Center building interior and surroundings are monitored with a 24/7 monitoring system with the use of ITV. The Center is safeguarded by guards from a licensed security agency. Irrespective of the above, the entire perimeter, on which the Web Inn Center is located is secured by an alarm system enabling the remote notification of the intervention group.

• Access to the rooms

The access procedure to the Web Inn Center requires two control centers to grant consent. The individual rooms are protects with a multi-stage level of protection: locks, proximity magnetic card readers, infra-ref curtain, seismic sensor.

• Power supply

Uninterruptable power supply from two independent sources. UPSs in a redundant array are also applied, as well as an engine generator with an automatic start-up, which, without fuelling can work up to 6 days. The work of the power supply system is monitored by a specialized management system.

• Air conditioning and ventilation system

Remotely monitored system maintaining the relevant working conditions for the hardware in the server room as well as the other rooms. The hardware operates in a redundant system and covers the entire server room.

• Fire safety system

The automatic fire extinguishing system using FM 200 gas, neutral for persons and hardware. Additionally, special fire safety procedures are prepared for these types of rooms, redundant sensors, fire-resistant walls and doors.

NETWORK AND IT SECURITY

The Web Inn Center network infrastructure was created in such a way, as to ensure a maximum level of reliability.

For this reason:

• The network equipment has been multiplied in the load balancing system and/or the high availability system.
• The equipment used by us has made all the elements significant for uninterrupted work redundant.
• Network separation is applied between the individual servers. We may differentiate the following sub-networks:
• a Demilitarized zone (DMZ) - systems are placed inside it, to which external access is limited and tightly controlled,
• production zone - systems requiring specific protection, i.e. requiring specific protection i.e. database servers,
• backup zone - a dedicated network for the creation of back-ups.

In order to raise the reliability of the functioning and the accessibility of the systems, some of the equipment is multiplied and linked in a manner ensuring the uninterrupted work of the system in the case of a breakdown of one of the elements (redundancies and clusters).
